Why ShiftsPod exists.

ShiftsPod started the way most useful tools do — from a real problem, not a whiteboard. Our founder has driven HGV Class 1 and run the admin side of a haulage operation, both seats, not just one. That gave us a starting point most software companies don't have: we knew exactly where the paperwork broke down, where checks slipped through, and where the office found out about a problem an hour too late.

But a starting point isn't a product. Before writing a line of code, we spent time talking to fleet operators — small owner-drivers and multi-yard groups alike — about what actually cost them time and money day to day. The pattern was consistent: real-time visibility, DVSA-aligned compliance, and documents that don't quietly expire on a spreadsheet, all living in three different tools instead of one.

How does the free trial work?
You get full access for 14 days — no credit card needed. We'll remind you before it ends, and you only pay if you decide to continue.
How much does it cost?
£14 per active driver per month, or £140 per driver per year. Seats adjust automatically as you add or remove drivers — you're never billed for drivers you don't run.
What happens when I add or remove drivers?
Your bill follows your active drivers automatically. Add a driver and you're charged a pro-rated amount for the rest of the billing period; stand one down and you're credited the same way. There are no seat bundles to buy up front and no limit to manage — you pay for exactly the drivers you're running.
Is there a contract or setup fee?
No contract and no setup fee. It's a rolling monthly (or annual) subscription you can cancel anytime — you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
How long does it take to get started?
Most fleets are running the same day. Create your account, add your drivers, and they sign in to the app with your company code. Import routes by CSV or API when you're ready.
Can I import my routes or connect my own system?
Yes. Load routes from a CSV, or push them straight from your TMS or back-office via our API. Each stop can carry your booking, client and collection references, so everything ties back to your own paperwork.
What do drivers capture at each drop?
Arrival and departure times, photos, and a signature where you need one — all recorded against the job and visible to the office in real time. It's your proof of delivery, without the paper.
Does it handle daily vehicle and trailer checks?
Yes. Drivers complete a walkaround check in the app before they set off. Any failed item is flagged to the office straight away, and every check is stored for your compliance records.
Does ShiftsPod give drivers navigation?
No — and that's deliberate. HGV drivers route with their own truck sat-nav. ShiftsPod gives them the stop list, references and what to do at each site, then captures the proof — it doesn't try to replace the sat-nav they already trust.
Does it work without signal?
Yes. The driver app works offline — stops, photos and GPS are queued on the device and upload automatically once signal returns. Nothing is lost in a dead spot.
Which devices are supported?
Any modern Android or iOS phone. There's a native Android app and an installable web app (PWA) for iPhone — both work offline.
What about my drivers' data and GDPR?
ShiftsPod is built for UK GDPR. We process driver data on your behalf as your processor under our Data Processing Agreement. See our Security & Compliance page and Privacy Policy for details.
Is my fleet's data kept separate from other companies?
Yes. Every company's data is fully isolated — drivers, routes and proof of delivery are scoped to your account only, enforced on every single request.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
You can export it at any time. After you cancel we keep it only as long as your retention settings allow, then it's automatically deleted — you're never locked in to keep your own records.
